How Landed works
Free · multilingual · privacy-first · independent
Landed helps newcomers to Canada answer one question fast: is this remote job offer real, or a scam? Paste a job posting, offer, or recruiter message and you get a clear verdict, the red flags and green flags explained, concrete steps to verify it, and where to find legitimate roles — in your own language.
How the check works
- Your text is sent to an AI model that's grounded in Canadian, newcomer-specific knowledge — how the CRA and IRCC actually communicate, what real job offers look like, and the patterns of common scams (gift-card "activation" fees, WhatsApp-only recruiters, fake-cheque overpayments, and more).
- You get a legitimacy score, a verdict (legitimate / questionable / likely scam), the specific warning and trust signals (quoted from your message), how to verify it, and a takeaway so you can spot the next one yourself.
- It replies in the language of your message, or one you choose.
- It can be wrong. Landed is guidance, not a guarantee — always confirm through official channels (see below).
Your privacy
By default, the message you paste is analyzed in the moment and never stored or logged by Landed. No account, no tracking cookies, no ads. Full details are on our Privacy page.
How the Community Wall works
The Community Wall lets people warn each other about scams going around — but only if they choose to. It is built so that nobody's identity is exposed:
- Opt-in only — nothing is shared unless you tap "Share."
- PII removed first, on our server — phone numbers, emails, @handles and links are stripped before anything is saved. Only a short, redacted excerpt + the verdict is kept.
- Numbers only for the activity counters — never message content.
- Auto-deleted after 90 days.
Who built it
Landed was built by José Castellanos — independently, to help newcomers avoid the job scams that disproportionately target them. It is free for the people who use it, with no ads and no selling of data. Questions, feedback, or a removal request: brevetura@gmail.com.
Landed is
independent and is
not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government, agency, or employer. It provides guidance and verification help, not legal or financial advice. Always confirm job postings and government communications through official channels, including
canada.gc.ca, and report fraud to the
Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
